'A Woman's Heart' is a classic album by any standards. Since its launch in July 1992, this record breaking collection has sold in excess of 500,000 units and remained the No.1 album in the Irish Charts for nearly 20 weeks. The title track 'Only A Woman's Heart' written by Eleanor McEvoy and performed by herself along with Mary Black was the most requested Irish song of that year. 'A Woman's Heart' is a compilation of 12 tracks that capture the varied vocal and musical talents of Maura O'Connell, Frances Black, Dolores Keane, Sharon Shannon, Eleanor McEvoy and Mary Black. The line up on 'A Woman's Heart 2' has most of the previous artistes with some interesting new inclusions, Mary Coughlan contributes one old and one new recording. Maighread Ní Dhomhnaill sings a beautiful song in Irish and Sinéad O'Connor gives Volume 2 a new dimension. This album also introduces the young and very talented singer / songwriter Sinéad Lohan. The phenomenal success of these two albums has generated a wider interest for and a greater appreciation of traditional and contemporary Irish music. Truly 'A Woman's Heart' still beats.
